Marghan – A Beautiful Village of Lugvalley, Kullu

Marghan village is one of the most attractive villages in Lugvalley, Kullu. Marghan village is surrounded by the grandeur of rivers, forests, farms, gardens and mountains. The village Marghan is about 1 km from Bhalyani, which is also the name of the panchayat of this village.

Festivals and Celebrations

After every four years, a festival is celebrated which is known as ‘Slokhara’. ‘Slokhara’ is celebrated with the divine culture which is a very important part of the festival. The people of the village enjoy the festival in which ‘Nati’ is the main attraction (Himachali traditional dance known as ‘Nati’). Apart from this, some other events cater to the festival.

Marghan is about 15 KM from the district headquarter Kullu. Its altitude is about 1960 meters. The area of Marghan is surrounded by forests and farms.

Kullu is the nearest town to Marghan village which is 15 km away from the village. Kullu is also the district headquarters of the Marghan village.

• Via Road:

You can reach here by road transport. It takes about an hour or less from Kullu, the district headquarters.

Best places to visit near Marghan

One of the village’s main attractions is ‘Balang Dhar Waterfall’ which takes 30-40 minutes to reach there from the village.
