How was Lugvalley named ‘Lugvalley‘
The name Lug valley is derived from the word ” Laag or Laug ” which means crime or sin. In the middle of the 13th century, the king of Suket was Madansen, who was very powerful. He won most of Kullu. He had a daughter, Princess Chandravati. Once, Princess Chandravati was reprimanded by the king and the princess committed suicide. The king felt sin. The royal family was beset by many plagues. Someone advised him to donate some part of his kingdom to the ‘Brahmins’ to settle it. Thus the king donated some part of his kingdom. This place was obtained because of sin, so it was called ‘Laag’. Over time, it slowly became ‘Laag’ to ‘Lug’. In this way, it was named Lugvalley.
