Bhalyani is one of the most incredible and beautiful places in Lugvalley of district Kullu. Bhalyani village is surrounded by the grandeur of forests, farms, gardens and mountains. The look of amazing nature can be seen from here.

Festivals and Celebrations

In the village’s centre is a grand temple of ‘Shri Katrusi Narayana’ (Lord Krishna) and a large playground where most local festivals occur. There is a festival known as ‘Faagli’ which takes place in February or March and another festival known as ‘Kahika’, which takes place in August every four years later. This festival lasts for three days.

Bhalyani Temple (Spiritual View)

Interestingly, the ‘Kahika’ festival involves ‘Shri Katrusi Narayana’ and three deities ‘Devta Veernath’, Devta Kshetrapal Thaan’ and ‘Devta Aadi Bramha’. It is celebrated with the divine culture, a very important part of the festival. The ‘Karkuni’ (employees of the gods) Pandits, Bhandari, Gur, Kaardar etc. play a very important role in this festival. All arrangements are made by these people.

These days people are enjoying every moment of the festival. There are lots of sports during the festival. The people of the village enjoy the festival, in which ‘Nati’ is one of the main attractions (Himachali traditional dance called ‘Nati’). In addition, some other events cater to the festival.

Geographical view

Bhalyani is about 16 KM from the district headquarters Kullu and 223 KM from the state capital Shimla. The total geographical area of ​​the village is 424 hectares or 4.24 square kilometres. Its altitude is about 1942 meters (6372 ft) above sea level.

Population

Bhalyani is a huge village with a total of 375 families residing. The village has a population of 2257 of which 1140 are males while 1117 are females as per Population Census2011.

Nearest city

Kullu is the nearest town to the Bhalyani which is 16 km away from the village. It is also the district headquarters of the village.

  • Via Road:

You can reach here via road transportation. It takes around an hour from Kullu.
